Movies

I do not have a specific genre of films that I watch. In fact I am open to watch all types of films as long as it peaks my interest. Nevertheless I do prefer one genre over the other. For example, I love to laugh which I why I am extremely fond of comedy such as my favorites: Friday, Next Friday, Friday After Next, All About the Benjamins, Meet the Fockers, Mr. and Mrs. Dupree etc. My favorite comedic actors are Katt Williams, Mike Epps, Owen Wilson, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Chris Tucker, and Chris Rock.
Aside from comedies, I love drama and love stories. My favorite love story/movie(well I have two) are The Notebook and Love and Basketball. Movies that include a someone in love who endure pain and face many obstacles and prejudice for being with another is reality. The truth in these movies lure me to watch it, accompanying the fact that I am true romantic and love, love 8-D.
Other days, I do not seem to want to cry, or my tears wont fall and I am only in a mood for a thrill an need energy then I watch movies like Rize, Stomp the Yard, Step Up, Dirty Dancing, Flash Dance, Grease, Grease 2 or You Got Served which are all dance movies. Or if I am really in the mood to kick some one's butt I watch action movies starring the greats like, Steven Segal and Denzel Washington in Training Day or Lethal Weapon which stars Asian actors, I enjoy watching karate movies.
Other movies I enjoy watching are: Scarface, 8 Mile because I love Eminem, Never Been Kissed, She's All That, Crazy/Beautiful, Pretty Woman, Teen Witch, Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club ( 80's movies starring Molly Ringwald), Some Kind of Wonderful...

Languages

Currently in my A.P. Language we are discussing identity and how one defines them self as person. Then the subject of language was introduced in a few essays. It is now clear to me that a dominant class can use language to castigate another's culture. For example, Hispanics and West Indians immigrate to the United States with their thick accents which all tells another where they are from and aids in their identification) and there are frequent cases when an 'American" will tell the individual that they don't understand what they are saying and they need to speak English or else they should go home. This saying is usually of disgust and if heard too many times many people will be forced to acculturate. However, the truth is the language you speak is a part of your identity. It tells people where you from. Through language one can trace their history. Thus if not held in high regards and preserved, the dominant class can and will manipulate people so they can change their dialect as well ad overpower them and make them feel inferior.

News

Currently there have a been a slew of editorials and reports published discussing the political campaigns for presidency, more specifically the Democratic candidates. Frankly, the media is only a vehicle, a medium in which the candidates messages are relayed to citizens. And like all news/media there exists bias and opinion. Thus, if all of these major T.V. stations are owned by companies like General Electric etc. then of course ideas and the news portrayed are misconstrued. This takes a lot of identity and reality from the whole campaign because then citizen's do not know the real stance and ideas of each candidate, only how others perceive these conceptions. Therefore, I propose a plan in which the media not only air the Democratic campaign but cease with any of their opinions and just focus on what the candidates have to say. Show instances where the public is questioning candidates about politics and topics of which peaks their interest to see what the candidates stand for. Each candidate views gives an idea of how they are and their whole method of thinking if they were to be elected president.

My Mahalo Blog

WHAT IS MAHALO?

Mahalo is a newly powereed search engine similar to Google in it's aim to provide the public with highly credible links for their most popular searches and questions. Mahalo's search results are organized, comprehensive, and spam free.
WHY CHOOSE MAHALO?
Mahalo is different from Google in the sense that when searching for a topic the search list provided is already organized; whereas, Google and other traditional search engines do not organize search results therefore spam and unnecessary links appear and it's the public that have to look at every link and sort each one out to see if it's applicable. Mahalo saves time. In addition, Mahalo focuses on topics traditional search engines neglect to provide accurate search lists that do not include ads or websites with people trying to sell products. Mahalo automatically erases spam sites, leaving only reliable sources.
